Transform your nervous system. Transform your life.

1.

Individual therapy

My belief is that you are the storyteller of your experiences, and I am the listener.

My goal is to assist you in understanding the root cause of your heaviest burdens while bringing calmness and stillness to your life.

My counseling services are tailored to rewire your nervous system.

2.

Couples or relational therapy

Relationships are often seen as one of the most important aspects of our lives.

However, our relationships can also be the most triggering to our system.

Whatever the nature of these relationships, I can assist you in enhancing your ability to communicate from a healthy, consistent and secure state.

3.

Trauma and Somatic therapy

Along with trauma informed therapeutic interventions, I utilize somatic body movements to release stored trauma in the body.

Trauma can manifest in the form of headaches, back aches, muscle aches, hormonal shifts.

This processing allows a regulation of your nervous system and a more relaxed state of being.

4.

EMDR therapy and "parts" work

Through a process called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) I assist you with identification of thinking patterns that increase your symptoms of anxiety, depression, and chronic pain.

These reprocessing features can also bring to light identified coping mechanisms formed or burdened "parts" within us.

Therapy Sessions
My Approach

I believe in a trauma-focused approach to counseling. This means that I view all of your experiences through a lens of trauma informed care. I recognize the overwhelming impact of trauma on the mind, body, spirit.

We carry these traumas in our thoughts, patterns of behavior, the way we treat our body, our relationships with others and our world views. I believe that you are the expert on your own experience. My goal is to help guide you on your journey towards healing and growth.

I utilized therapeutic interventions including Eye-movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Parts work through Transactional Analysis or Internal Family Systems-informed, Brainspotting, Somatic movements, Emotional Focused Therapy.

Mark V., Detroit, MI

I was in my final year of grad school and had a lot of heightened stress and anxiety. Sessions with Lisa quickly became a safe space where I could reflect and contextualize the triggers of my anxiety and subsequent coping mechanisms. She's helped me unpack so much of my life, like religious trauma, body dysmorphia, and people-pleasing tendencies.
